Why do girls like to wear flip flops all the time usually?

It seems like it has become "in" to wear flip flops all the time, especially girls. Why is this? Flip flops should be for the beachl, pool, and at home. There were some girls at my high school ggraduation who wore them! I mean, wtf!?

and here, not only the girls wear them, guys wear them on the street as well. I guess this is partly because of the beach/sport culture of australia and its pretty comfortable as well
Reply:lol i dont know why this is in the singles and dating area but anyways i have no idea i love wearing them because they are cheap and easy to wear, they go with anything and they will never go out of fashion, and best of all they are comfy yeh i wear mine to the shops but graduation yeh thats weird hahha

I am the one who always has my havaiana's in my bag even when I am going out for a huge night and have the 4 inch stillettos on....





I suggest you try walking around in some high heels and feel the "burn" and you would want your thongs too!
Reply:I completely agree. I'm a girl and I absolutely hate flip flops. I don't understand why people wear them even during the winter or on the street where it's filthy. I've always thought they were cheap looking. That, and I hate looking at people's feet. I can't wait for this fad to be over.

1. they look cheap and are tacky





2. the damn things just wont stay on your feet





3. they are loud and too noisy anywhere





4. you cant run or they will fall right off





5. people will step on the back of your feet





6. you can constantly trip yourself





7. they are too flat / ruin your posture





8. they are hard and give you blisters





9. the friction from the shoes leaves a red 'flip flop imprint tan' on your foot that hurts like a blister





10. everyone else in the world wears them...why do i want to blend in instead of expressing my individuality?





11. you will have a toe wedgie all the time





12. they make people look lazy like they just woke up and left the house or something





13. they dont protect your feet from anything at all (ex. loose gravel, grass, water etc.)





14. your pants will drag on the ground since they are so flat...and most likely get incredibly filthy





15. your toes will get cold...eventually





16. they pressure you to always have a perfect pedicure





17. flip flops are for the beach...would a girl wear her bikini everywhere she went? my philosophy : no flip flop goes anywear without its corresponding bikini (so if you aint wearing a bikini... pick another damn shoe!)

Reply:Yes, they are for all of those places but not GRADUATION! They are for causal wear usually. I wear them because they are easy to get on and look good.

Reply:some girls are just into that... it wont last though, out of high school there aren't to many women who wear them all of the time, all of of women stick more to heels and long boots...
Reply:They are comfortable, like going barefoot but you can do it out and not have to worry about getting something in your foot. Plus, when it's hot out or cool out even, the air just feels great on your feet! For some girls, they want to show off their pedicure, but don't want to have to wear high heels. High heels aren't the most comfortable!

Reply:I don't know but it's SOOOO hot on a taller girl because it shows her "height" is genuine. Anytime I see a tall girl, I always look at her feet to see what kind of shoes she is wearing. If they are 0.01 inch thick flip flops, forget it, she's in my memory for good! :)
Reply:Well, if it's warm.. it's the best option... feet don't breathe in sneakers... and you need to wear socks.. therefore, flip flops are ideal for keeping your feet cool and comfortable.. though I have to say... Prom?? That's retarded... you don't wear flip flops to Prom haha, you wear them casually!!
