I saw a girl the other day with black flip flops on that had rhinestones embedded in the sole. The rhinestones were all the way around the edge and the straps were rubber. I couldn't tell who they were made by and I can't find them anywhere. Please help!

How to clean White flip flops?
Does any one know how to clean my foot print out of my flip flops???? I need to know by thursday..... I'm going to see my boy friend and I want to look good!!!!

LOL, Is is almost impossible. But mix baking soda with water(paste) and scrub it with a toothbrush. That should do it. Just dont try to add bleach to it.

The ones I have sound like they are the ones or similar ones you might have seen. I have to tell you, I got my pair at Ross a few years ago...and haven't ever seen anyone else wearing them nowadays. You can always try to buy a pair of plain black flipflops from somewhere and glue on your own rhinestones!!! Glue some on the edge of the flip flips and you can even put some on the straps too!

Going barefoot is very healthy. Injuries are unlikely; feet get very tough very quickly, I rarely get even as much as a splinter and never had a cut in ten years of going barefoot everywhere. Parasites are unlikely as well; hookworm can enter through the feet but has been pretty much gone from the South since modern plumbing has replaced the outhouses and never was a problem in cooler climates. Other worms spread by ingestion, not through the foot. Feet don't need support; a study among people in Asia who'd never worn shoes showed the rikshaw coolies, who ran barefoot on pavement all day long, had very, very few foot problems; far less than Western folks! Some stores require shoes but it's not a Health Department law or insurance requirement.
I have little experience with flipflops, I prefer being barefoot because it's just far more comfortable and pleasant to feel all the different surfaces underneath (even the rough ones), so I can't give much advice about them, only that when driving it's better to take them off and drive barefoot. In spite of persistent myths, driving barefoot is *not* illegal and driving with loose footwear as flipflops is much more dangerous than without any footwear at all (see last link in the source).

I let a friend borrow a pair of my havaiana flip flops and it turns out a day or two later she had athletes foot so my question is Will athlete's foot fungus stay on flip flops? And if so how do I clean it off so when I wear them I don't get athlete foot.

A mild bleach solution (with water) I would imagine would do the trick. Don't let it set anymore than 1 or 2 min., you don't want to do damage to your flip flops. And then rinse it good and dry.

Hi, I am currently building a website online for a footwear and fashion acessory boutique out of my home. I recently bought a small case of dressy sequined flip flops by FOXY GIRL as well as a case of sequined/beaded cork wedges by BAMBOO. My website is not complete yet, but I am selling on eBay. I am finding that they are not selling as well since July, probably because we're well into the summer season. Anyway, I just wanted to ask the girls out there who love their shoes, what would you pay for a high-quality, cute pair of dress flip flops as well as wedges as described. I have about 5 pairs of Reef flip flops (the ones with the nylon bands and foam/rubber base) and I wear them ALL the time. They start to smell after a while because of the hot, wet, sticky summer weather and my feet! lol...
What is a good way to wash them? Please do not tell me to buy new ones..they are about $25 a pop and are the ONLY flip flops I like because they do not give me blisters at all.
I've tried soaking them in hot water and soap, but the smell still remains! I think I might pop them in the washing machine!

Reply:I have Reefs, too! They're the best, huh? Anyway, I just take mine in the shower with me and let them really get soaked with body wash, shampoo, whatever. All the oils come off the shoe and it looks as good as new. Then I leave them in there to dry overnight. Best off all? They don't reek or smell at all by the end. If that doesn't work for you, it may just be your feet. Try some tinactin or go to a podiatrist if you're stumped.
I wouldn't pop them in the washing machine, because they are kind of flimsy. Just try the shower thing a couple of times. I swear-it works.
Reply:You can wash them with bleach and hot water in if the are white to kill bacteria. For the ones with colors you can use a detergent with a bleach alternative like Tide with bleach alternative, and Clorox 2 . Always in hot water to kill the bacteria.
Reply:Just rotate them, washing them once a week in laundry soap. Allow them to dry naturally. Don't put them in your drier. Don't worry about the smell. You are probably the only one who notices it.
Reply:I would soak them in a sink or tub of water and add 1 cup white disitlled vinegar. Vinegar is a great natural deodorizer. Or as others have mentioned, put them in the washer. Add 1 cup of vinegar to the wash. The vinegar smell dissipates as it dries. Let them air dry, do not put in dryer.
Reply:Wash them with baking soda and put over an air vent to dry quickly. That should take care of the smell. If you air vent dry them every night it will help keep the odor away. Slow drying aids in the formation of mold.

Reply:I have Reefs, too! They're the best, huh? Anyway, I just take mine in the shower with me and let them really get soaked with body wash, shampoo, whatever. All the oils come off the shoe and it looks as good as new. Then I leave them in there to dry overnight. Best off all? They don't reek or smell at all by the end. If that doesn't work for you, it may just be your feet. Try some tinactin or go to a podiatrist if you're stumped.
I wouldn't pop them in the washing machine, because they are kind of flimsy. Just try the shower thing a couple of times. I swear-it works.
Reply:You can wash them with bleach and hot water in if the are white to kill bacteria. For the ones with colors you can use a detergent with a bleach alternative like Tide with bleach alternative, and Clorox 2 . Always in hot water to kill the bacteria.
Reply:Just rotate them, washing them once a week in laundry soap. Allow them to dry naturally. Don't put them in your drier. Don't worry about the smell. You are probably the only one who notices it.

also, i have a pair of single layer thick strapped blue, which are amazingly comfortable and a pair of double layer thin strapped sand.
they're worth it because as i said, my first pair has lasted me two years so far (:

Anyway...I got my pair of Rainbows during the summer because everyone had them. Not a very good reason, but I tend to stick to stupid trends, ugh. My mom was a bit disappointed in how pricey they were, but it is so worth it! I wear the Medium size, which I believe is Women's size 7 thru 9. (I wear 8.) The straps were a little too tight on me at first, but they adjusted to my foot very quickly.
I wore my Rainbows to two up-in-the-mountains summer retreats, both church-related. The first retreat's location was not very sandy/dusty, but the second really got my feet really dirty, dirty enough to turn my feet yellow and black-spotted from the encrusted mud. Eww! I had to wash my Rainbows (along with best friend, who had Hollister flip flops) in the shower stalls at least thrice a day, and my Rainbows went through a lot of wearing those three short-but-harmful days. But they are still in great condition, and they broke in very nicely afterwards!
They break in really quick, and are super comfortable, so don't worry about that. Much better than ballet flats, and much more cute than sneakers. I'd wear them to school if I could, but I'm still in middle school, and they don't allow it here. In high school they do, so I can't wait until next year! ^_^

In the movie "Office Space" they portray that when the guy comes to work in flip flops he is showing a bad, rebellious, not caring much side of himself. Somewhat of a "gangsta". (me I like wearing sandals so I don't care either way) Just curious what your opinions are on this?

Depends. If you're going to work and your job requires/wants you to wear a suit and tie, then it's rebellious and you'll get a talk (not to mention it doesn't look professional in such a setting).
Otherwise, it's perfectly fine for a guy to wear flip flops pretty much anywhere. They're just like any other shoe or piece of clothing.
I would have to say it's not gangsta. That kind of style is more of a leather jacket, heavy black boots and chains. Flip flops are much more of a surfer or prep style for guys.

How do you clean flip flops?
Those sure don't look like a guy's feet. If they are, they are the hottest guy's feet I have ever seen. Nice smooth soles! I would say, sucking on the girl's feet that are wearing the flip flops, would clean the flip flops themselves. Try it, it really works.

Reply:I would put 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water in a spray bottle. Spray the stain and then blot it. Do this a couple of times and then put the shoe in the sun to dry and disinfect it. You can always hit it with some Febreeze!

First of all, I admire you for trying to take care of the stuff you already own. That's very enviromentally conscious. You can't go on replacing stuff if it works fine.
Get some hydrogen peroxide and use it on the soles. Let it foam, and then rinse it off. For residual stains, fill a bucket with hot water and add some dishsoap. Let them soak for a while. Scrub with an old toothbrush if needed.

All flip flops are far too girly, unless they are 'sporty' looking, like Reef, for beach purposes only. In the street, etc, they are seriously uncool. Even sandals, like Birkenstocks, are more manly. And if you point to 'big, tough, handsome' guys who wear flip flops as casual wear, I would just say they look like unintelligent jocks.

Don't know what the weather is like at your location but in DE college students wear these year round with shorts, jeans, and kackis

I have a pair of Old Navy flip flops. I just happened to look on the bottom and I had all kinds of stuff stuck under there...a couple of rocks, some glass, some jewelry wire and what looks like some kind of electrical widget thingy (wtf?). Does your school allow flip flops???
I was just wondering really how many schools doesnt allow flip flops, and why?? I just moved to another city and my son just went into school, and the teacher never told me that he couldnt wear them, and I try to get him to put them on today, and he said he couldnt wear them the teacher said no!! I was just curious. Because where we did live it didnt matter at all if you wore them.

well at my school they do allow them but i dont think they didnt when i was in elementry school or middle school and the reason was its easier to get hurt with them they are alot easier to trip and fall in like going up stairs or running and people can step on you toes and in littler kids they would cry and be mad and hurt over that also because if something was to fall street shoes or gym shoes whatever type are alot more protective of your feet i think its pretty stupid but it makes since when you think about it from there way

They don't want us wearing flip flops because the hallways get so crowded and if someone steps on them, the flip flop falls off and then causes traffic in the hallway. And also it causes injuries somehow. I think it's pretty stupid though because during the summer, shoes don't really go with what you wear and it gets too hot out to wear shoes.

Go to your local nail salon and get a spa pedicure. Im telling you a good pedicure can do wonders on feet! Trust, try it!

You *can* get an operation for bunions, but I believe that often the foot will "shift" back to its original shape.
As long as you keep your feet well groomed you should be fine. A fun nail polish will detract attention from the shape of your feet.
P.S. I have a bunion on one foot, which looks just like my maternal grandmother's foot, while the other foot looks like my dad's foot. They don;t even match! As a child, even before the bunion, I was self-conscious about my feet and hardly ever wore flops or sandals. Just do your best and tough it out.

My wife was wearing her Black 3 inch Reef Flip Flops and she twisted her ankle and one strap broke. Can a shoe repair shop fix this? They are brand new and she only wore them that one time.

What do you think about flip-flops?
We have a family member of a patient who keeps pacing the halls in her flip-flops driving most of my co-workers crazy with the "flop-clickey" noise thing-a-ma-bob.
I didn't really notice... it doesn't bother me at all.
(Maybe it is a female thing. All five who complained are women.)

I'm a woman - I wore flip flops to work -- because they are easy to take off under my desk. I tend to walk kind of funny though to keep the "flip flop" noise down when I'm walking around inside.

Reply:Some people don't know how to wear flipflops and walk in them without them "flopping." It's an art to it, lol, you have to know how to keep your feet stuck to the inside of the shoe so doesn't click and when you walk and let each foot down, you step lightly so it doesn't flop against the floor so hard and wake the dead. I don't think flipflops, sandals and house slippers were made for everyone, especially people with heavy feet and those who walk hard. It is an annoying sound, my mom walks like that and when you say something to her, she gets bothered like she's doing nothing wrong but it's annoying. I saw a lady in a driver's license bureau come in one day and was dragging her feet with sandals on and it made the "flip-flop" noise all the way to the receptionist desk and everyone in there was looking at her wishing she would pick her feet up. A kid though it was funny so on her way out, every time she stepped, he yelled, "Flip Flop, Flip Flop!" Everyone was glad someone brought it to her attention and she was leaving so we didn't have to hear it anymore.

Should you wear flip flops while showering while living in an apartment?
People wear flip flops to protect their feet in dorm showers, but do you do it in an apartment as well if you're sharing the bathroom with two other people?

With only two other people, it's probably no problem at all. You don't really need them.
For the last three years, I've been sharing a dorm bathroom (2 showers) with at least 28 other girls, last year there were 33 girls on my floor, and I have never worn flip flops in a shower. Personally, I HATE wearing flip flops to shower, it's just irritating. But you know what? As paranoid as many people are about using shared showers, and as convinced as they are about infections, I have NEVER had a problem with any kind of infection what so ever. None. And neither has any one else I know. Athletes foot and stuff do NOT pass on that easily. And even if it did, then wouldn't the water falling on the floor cause it to just splash up over top of the flip flops anyway?
Do the three of you have the apartment all to yourself? Or is it in some kind of dorm building where the cleaning staff can get in to clean it? In my dorm, the cleaning lady cleans it almost every day. If it's up to you guys to keep it clean, then just take turns cleaning it every couple days or something. It'll take like, 5 mins to squirt some Tilex on there and wipe it down with a paper towel or sponge.
When you really think about it, there's nothing but soap and hot water running over the floor part every shower, so it's probably one of the cleanest places in the dorm... As long as you have a decent enough immune system anyway. Mold and mildew can still build up around the tiles, especially on the upper walls and ceiling, but it's usually harmless in small amounts. Just clean it every once in a while.
Don't worry about it. The biggest problem with living in a dorm or apartment is that you WILL get sick. Colds and flus spread like wildfire in dorms. Your body builds up antibodies against germs and bacterias every day, but suddenly being surrounded by germs and bacteria from multiple other people, your body can't fight them off fast enough. Bring tons of suddafed, benadryl, cough syrup, and tissues. You'll need them sooner or later. I get sick at least twice a semester. But never had a problem with the showers lol.
Reply:Well if you were alone I would say just be sure to clean it often. But since there are other people you may want to wear them.. but not just any flipflops.. buy a nice cheap pair that is just for this use.. and clean them off too. Just don't miss cleaning your feet while you're showering!
Reply:If your water supply is chlorinated and you dry your feet off after showering, there is nearly zero chance of you catching anything from your roomates, even if they have athlete's foot so bad their feet are rotting off.
Relax! Just don't wear their shoes or their un-washed socks.

They are called "tennis shoes" not rubber shoes. Rubber shoes are those flimsy little flip flops that americans wear in the shower and filipinos wear everywhere, including playing basketball. Try to remember this in case someone asks you "what the heck is rubber shoes?"

Reply:Flipflops can be comfortable but not at all 'healthy' for the feet. You might develop plantar fasciitis, its the pain at the heel of our foot. For walking long distances its still better to wear comfy shoes with proper arch support.

In school, my feet used to have cuts cuz shoes I used had nails, and the soles had holes, and worn out and the nails were sticking out.
I went to Saudi to be able to wear good shoes.
And without the nails. But now my shoes are worn out again, and I just don't care. Just as long as there are no nails.
If flip-flops it is, then I'll wear em, too - just as long as they have no nails.

I find them a lot more comfortable than rubber shoes because they don't constrain my feet. I like to let my toes out every once in a while, especially after a good pedicure. Besides, it's a lot more practical during rainy seasons. Because while rubber shoes go *squish* after it gets wet, I could just wipe off my flip flops and be on the go again. :D
