Who's wearing flip flops at their wedding?

I found these cute ones on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...

that i was thinking of wearing at the ceremony and reception... my dress is long enough that you wont be able to tell at all. I dont really want to spend $50 on a pair of shoes that are uncomfortable and I will only wear for maybe a half hour or so. what do you think? are you wearing flip flops or something similar?

Who's wearing flip flops at their wedding?
They are great!!

I am actually planning on buying a pair of flat ones in white for myself and silver ones for the bridesmaids for when all the formalities are finished at the wedding. This way they don't need to wear shoes that are killing their feet when they dance the night away. The dresses that I have picked (mine included) are long and the chances of seeing their shoes a slim anyway.

I really like those thongs (flip-flops) I might actually get a pair for myself for the whole day.
Reply:I am..sort of. I'm wearing a pair of heels during the ceremony only because I already have a pair that I want to wear, but I didn't want my feet killing me by the end of the night so I got a really cute pair of sandals I'm going to put on in the car on the way to the reception. I hear ya though... my bridesmaids are wearing dresses that are floor length so I told them I don't care if they are barefoot or wearing slippers lol it's their feet, no one will see them so wear what you want.
Reply:Buy them and wear them around the house, since they are white not outside. But I had a pair like that and some of them hurt your feet if you don't break them in.

Itll look fine they are high so they will look like heels.

Like I said it looks like foam and that soaks in all kinds of colors tho so be careful.

I plan on wearing higher shoes, because im short and hes tall.
Reply:I am buying rhinestone flops for the bridemaids, and for my mom, for the reception. I say go for it. I oringinally had flops picked out for me, then changed my mind. I am a shoe freak, so I am buying low heels, then may change to flops later

The ones you found are pretty.....I say do it :)
Reply:eww, eww, eww. don't wear these shoes to a wedding. it doesn't matter if your dress is long, they will show eventually and make the rest of your outfit suck

wait a minute, is this YOUR wedding? please, i beg you, don't wear such cheap, ugly shoes if you're the bride.
Reply:i don't see why not

my shoes were killing me at my sil's wedding so i put on a pair of sneakers for the reception and no one could see them... i could actually dance in them!

go for it - they're cute and they will definately work for what you want!
Reply:You can wear them to the reception but unless they have a back strap they will "flip flop" all the way down the aisle. Even if people can't see them they will hear them! :)
Reply:If nobody saw them I would wear them. If you're creative add a bit of decor to them may you could add an ankle strap to make it look a bit more "elegant" than flip flops
Reply:I live in flip flops most of the year but unless it was a beach wedding, I would not wear them.
Reply:If there nice and they go with the theme why not. Being comfortable on your wedding day only means the more FUN you will have. Buy them!
Reply:do you really want to go slap slap slap slap slap slap slap slap down the aisle?
Reply:Adorable!
Reply:Have you considered white satin ballet slippers? They run $20-30. I wore them in my own wedding, as well as every wedding I've ever been part of %26amp; my feet were always comfortable the whole time.
Reply:would it be hard to walk in the dress with your flip flops flopping around and getting tangled in the dress?
Reply:why don't you just go barefoot????? that's what i plan on doing when i get hitched!
Reply:buy them
Reply:Why would you ruin the elegant look of a gorgeous gown with something so casual and out of place as FLIP-FLOPS? C'mon. There is no such thing as "dress" flip-flops! Even if your dress is long, people will see the flip flops when you walk, sit and dance. They'll show up in photos, and you'll regret it years from now.

You don't have to spend $50 on shoes you'll never wear again. If you don't like heels, then get a cute pair of flat shoes, or ballerina slippers. You can get very inexpensive, but still appropriate, shoes all over the place (DSW, Payless, Target, KMart, TJMaxx, Marshall's and on and on). I bought a pair of really cute linen flats the other day for $13, and I'll wear them all summer.
