How to clean flip flops?

i have a lot of flip flops, i love wearing them but i can not wear dirty ones, like with toe prints,ew. i have been wiping them clean with water (their the foam ones from old navy) and they have been getting them pretty clean. so i was wondering if i use bleach on pairs that are not white will it fad or take the color out of them? thanks

How to clean flip flops?
I was pondering the same question and I too have a lot of Old Navy flip flops. I searched Yahoo Answers and there are already a lot of questions about this. Mix baking soda with water (paste) and scrub it with a toothbrush (in addition to toothbrush I also used a small sponge. Any small scrub, cotton swabs, cotton balls, or Q-Tips will also work.). Just don't try to add bleach to it. If you don't have any baking soda at hand, you can use Mr Clean Magic Eraser instead or whichever one is more conveniently available to you. The baking soda paste method works like a charm but might make the color fade a little but not drastically so. I used them on magenta flip flops and now they're medium pink which I think is better shade. If you don't want them to fade, then you can ditch the baking soda and use Mr Clean Magic Eraser or OxyClean. After using the baking soda paste / Oxyclean / Mr Clean, I'll put them in the washing machine on the delicate cycle (use either OxyClean, Fabreeze, color-safe bleach, or plain ol' regular Tide, whatever you choose, doesn't matter. I used a bit of Tide and a cup of OxyClean) - astonishing results! I'll then finish off with a Tide To Go Instant Stain Remover pen, scrubbed once more with OxyClean %26amp; baking soda mixture, and rinsed them down with the hose. The flip flops now look brand new!
Reply:Drop them in the trash and get a nice pair of black pumps instead.
Reply:more thank likely
Reply:Yes it will.
Reply:just get the bleach that wont fade
Reply:soap and water

DUH
Reply:put them in the washing machine
Reply:Yeah, use the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, works like a charm :-)
Reply:Use a Mr. Clean Eraser or a generic store equivalent. They work wonders on flip flops and tennis shoes too!
Reply:Rather than use bleach, pop them in the washer and use color safe bleach and some fabreeze if needed. They usually come out clean and fresh. I wash mine every week, be sure to use the gentle cycle if possible,or the hand wash cycle on your washing machine..Goodluck
Reply:I don't know if you're old enough to remember that old saying about how if you love something enough, set it free, if it comes back to you it's yours and if not then it never was. Well, that saying applies to flip-flops too. You should definitely run them through the delicate cycle on your washing machine with some good detergent (I use Trader Joe's - it's mild and smells really good). If your flip-flops do not survive, then it's not meant to be but I've never had a pair check out on me by doing this. If they do survive you'll be fine and sans toe-prints. BTW - I use the tide pen to remove toe prints from other summer sandals. It works fabulously well.
