i need to shrink the straps on my leather flip flops and a friend suggested soaking them in water... but will that make the dark brown color fade? any other suggestions maybe?

water will not shrink them, if anything it will make them stretch out more because the fibers will be less %26quot;tight%26quot;. Try contacting a local shoe repair shop- this will be expensive though so if they aren%26#039;t worth bigh bucks, I would not recommend this
Reply:I have leather flip flops and have gotten them wet many times.. I always seem to get caught in the rain....lol
and they never discolored!!
Otherwise maybe a good shoe-maker would be able to adjust the fit for you.. if you have one near where you live that would be your best bet!!
