Ladies, when, if ever, are flip-flops appropriate in the office workplace?

I know %26#039;Casual Friday%26#039; is supposed to be just that: casual, but when, if ever, are flip-flops appropriate for the office workplace? Ladies, if you work in an office environment, do you bring %26#039;flops%26#039; as a second shoe to change into? Ever been called out for wearing your flops while working?

Ladies, when, if ever, are flip-flops appropriate in the office workplace?
good question. You really shouldn%26#039;t wear these to work. Too much danger of stepping on something sharp, or banging your foot into something, and then your employer could be liable. It also doesn%26#039;t look very professional.
Reply:not acceptable at all.
Reply:Flip flops are NEVER acceptable office attire. Even on casual Fridays.
Reply:I know you addressed this to the ladies, but at my office, we actually are allowed and encouraged to wear whatever shoes we are most comfortable in, including flip flops. We spend most of our day at a desk, and instead of having casual days, we get notices when regular business dress will be required and we all then put on regular shoes and dress business casual. Its a nice little perk that we have. By the way, we are all professional people with degrees and not telemarketers. But we rarely have office visitors, so who cares what we have on our feet, as long as they are clean.
Reply:unless you work on the beach i think flip flops are totally inappropriate. who wants to see your funky toes while working in the office. bring sneakers or any other flats for an alternative shoe
Reply:in an office no I don%26#039;t think so.
Reply:banga lanaa
Reply:Never. They are never good to wear at work, no matter where that is or what day it is.

I never personally tried getting away with it, but while working at WalMart I saw two cashiers and heard of several other temps being told to either go home and change shoes or buy a new pair. As far as I know, most every company has it written in their dress code policies that opened toe shoes of any kind are not permissable. Too many dangers of hurting your toes somehow, even just by stubbing your toe, that the company would then be responsible for taking care of should anything happen (ie a stubbed toe being cut on a corner of a desk and then becoming infected).
Reply:dont wear anything to an office that you would wear in a shower... if you wouldn%26#039;t wear it in a shower.. it is most likely dressy enough to be professional
Reply:i would say to ask the boss first.
Reply:Absolutely not. The shoes i wear stay on my feet until I get home. When people change shoes or walk around barefooted at work. I see that as a sign of disrespect and it shows a weakness. So not cool in the workplace.
Reply:When you work the phone and nobody sees you. tellamarkeders this is to good for you!!
Reply:i dunno im not working yet
Reply:Not unless your wear them with stylish jeans, and REALLY REALLY nice stylish flip-flops, like the $10-15 flip-flops. That would look nice.
Reply:Are we talking rubber $1. store flip flops or what? Flips flops are only acceptable if u have nice feet!!!!!
