Dirty Flip-Flops - How to Clean?
Flip flops are favorite shoes of summer. They are great for wearing to the pool, the beach, shopping, and just hanging out. These summer staples come in assorted colors and styles, and get a ton of wear and tear. Have you noticed your favorite pair is getting a little dingy? Here is how to bring new life to the ultimate comfortable shoe.

Step1

Start with plain old soap and water and an old toothbrush. Remove most of the grime with a little scrubbing.

Step2

Put them in the dishwasher. Do not wash them with dishes, and use a gentle cleaner when running your rubber sandals through the wash. Add vinegar and baking soda to the wash to do double duty--cleaning your shoes and your dishwasher.

Step3

Let your tub fill with water while you take a shower. Soak flip flops to loosen dirt, and scrub with a nail brush afterward.

Step4

Use the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser as an easy way to remove grime from your flip flops and bathtub.

Step5

Try an oxygen cleaner and water to get stains off your sandals. You may need to add the power of a scrub brush for maximum results.

Step6

Use steel wool pads with soap to get down and dirty with the grit in your flip flops. This method works best after soaking the sandals in a sink of water for about an hour.

Tips:

Some cleansers can bleach the color out of sandals. Test on an inconspicuous area for color safety.

Do not soak suede sandals in water. Use the scrubbing methods for suede sandals, and be careful not to get the upper portion wet.
Reply:I always wash all my flip flops with a nail brush or one of those wash up sponges that are yellow sponge with a green scrub pad on one side and Fairy houshold soap in the sink,(the green one), you can get it in the soap powder aisle in many supermarkets, you get 2 bars for £1.78, then put them in the washing machine with the rest of the washing, they always turn out fine, sometimes i don%26#039;t even need to put them in the washer, it is also great for getting stains out of clothes, just damp the stain, rub the soap on the stain both sides and throw in the washer till you do the next wash. The orange sand might stain and is nearly impossible to remove, but that is usually on the sole, where your foot goes, so doesn%26#039;t show when you wear them again.
Reply:I have plenty of flip flops from Roxy and Animal and I always put them in the wash and most of the time they come out as good as new. The orange sand might stain so try spraying on stain remover first.

Good Luck!!
Reply:Put into a bucket of warm water with a hand full of biological soap powder, this works i did it after my holiday to Africa, leave over night.
Reply:in a washing machine with a bit of bleach added or in a bowl with some boiling water and bicarbonate of soda
Reply:if plastic or rubber try toilet bowl cleaner has bleach in it! squirt on rub with brush and rinse off! should work...the Blu-stuff.
Reply:Get in the shower with them on then leave them out to dry in the sun
Reply:Bung them in the washing machine with your next dark load.
Reply:Try %26quot;Cif%26quot; on a damp cloth and then work gently in circle movements, then rinse .
Reply:wear in shower and wash with soap ,or try washing up liq.
Reply:Jiff.

I throw my shoes in the washing machine sometimes and they come out OK.
