Guys in Old Navy flip flops?

Hi everyone. I'm a young male college student. I was curious what you all thought about guys in Old Navy flip flops like these...

I'm thinking about picking up a couple of pairs. Are they cool on guys? What should I wear them with? What colors should I get? Thanks a ton!

All flip flops are far too girly, unless they are 'sporty' looking, like Reef, for beach purposes only. In the street, etc, they are seriously uncool. Even sandals, like Birkenstocks, are more manly. And if you point to 'big, tough, handsome' guys who wear flip flops as casual wear, I would just say they look like unintelligent jocks.
Reply:I agree I think they are a bit feminine. How about a pair of suede 2 strap brown birks? Birkenstocks are so comfortable for all that walking you do as a college student, they are timeless, very popular. They give a little coverage to incase your feet aren't real pretty and I havent met too many men with pretty feet. I wore them 15 yrs ago when i went to college and my brother is your age and he lives in them. They are expensive but really last. Don't know what the weather is like at your location but in DE college students wear these year round with shorts, jeans, and kackis
Reply:Bah, if you would like my opinion, there is nothing special about those. They're nice, but I mean really, the logo is going to be under your foot anyways, why not get a cheaper brand or something?





If you want to work with old navy, try buying their leather flip-flops. They're not for teenage beach parties for sure, but like second poster said, they're more manly

Reply:Old Navy is great!! It's also one of the only places in Canada you can buy flip flops year round (and us Canadians like to go to warm places in the winter so its bloody convenient that they do).





I have an uncountable amount of flip flops from there.

Reply:I bought the new style and they rubbed my feet RAW where the plastic rubs when you walk. They were fine the first day but now I have raw spots on both feet...kinda sucks...but that's what you get when you wear cheap rubber shoes. :( They are cute though.

We call these thongs back when having your underwear caught in places was considered a BAD thing, not a fashion statement.





I guess now that thongs (the underwear) are such a popular hit kids don't get to use jokes like "Are ya going to a movie?? I see you're picking your seat!" or "I see you wore your Indian underwear today ... they keep creeping up on you!"

Reply:I think the University Bookstore on State Street at least has Wisconsin Badger flip flops....but for ones that aren't Badger ones, I don't know. Maybe try going to Famous Footwear on University Ave, or West Towne Mall has a Payless Shoes....I don't know if they'd have flip flops right now though...

What's on the bottom of your flip flops?

I have a pair of Old Navy flip flops. I just happened to look on the bottom and I had all kinds of stuff stuck under there...a couple of rocks, some glass, some jewelry wire and what looks like some kind of electrical widget thingy (wtf?). It just made me wonder what's on the bottom of other people's flip flops?

Does your school allow flip flops???

I was just wondering really how many schools doesnt allow flip flops, and why?? I just moved to another city and my son just went into school, and the teacher never told me that he couldnt wear them, and I try to get him to put them on today, and he said he couldnt wear them the teacher said no!! I was just curious. Because where we did live it didnt matter at all if you wore them.

well at my school they do allow them but i dont think they didnt when i was in elementry school or middle school and the reason was its easier to get hurt with them they are alot easier to trip and fall in like going up stairs or running and people can step on you toes and in littler kids they would cry and be mad and hurt over that also because if something was to fall street shoes or gym shoes whatever type are alot more protective of your feet i think its pretty stupid but it makes since when you think about it from there way
Reply:In my school we aren't allowed to wear flip flops but we still do anyways so they just gave up with us. They don't want us wearing flip flops because the hallways get so crowded and if someone steps on them, the flip flop falls off and then causes traffic in the hallway. And also it causes injuries somehow. I think it's pretty stupid though because during the summer, shoes don't really go with what you wear and it gets too hot out to wear shoes.

Reply:our school allows them, except in gym class, or in T.A. classes if you are a TA for the elementary, cause kids run all over and will hurt you when they step on you.





you cant take them off though, if you do you get a referral or detention, something to do with the health code or something
Reply:All of the schools that I work at allow flip flops but they require them to wear sneakers in gym class.
